We live in a complicated, difficult, and often lonely world. J uses humor, humanity, and fun facts about the brain to support people surviving and healing from complex trauma and systemic oppression. They often work with people at the intersections of: LGBTQ+ identity, neurocomplexity (ADHD/autism/OCD), disability and chronic pain/illness, substance use, and strong dissociative abilities. They are a kink, ethical non monogamy, and sex work affirming therapist who practices from an anti racist and body neutral/positive perspective.
J is a relational therapist who often uses narrative therapy, somatics, critical and liberation theories, DBT, harm reduction, and disability justice concepts in their work with clients. In therapy with J you can expect to strengthen your relationship with yourself, learn about human development and neurology as they relate to your experiences and symptoms, and explore how cultural context impacts your mental health.
J has spent the last 10 years working in contexts including: community sex education, harm reduction, restorative justice, residential and outpatient mental/chemical health settings. They have been practicing as an outpatient therapist since 2022. Outside the therapy room, you can find J gardening and crafting. They have 3 cats and a dog who will occasionally visit during virtual therapy sessions. Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, J only provides care via telehealth.
