Kaja Foat, MA, LAMFT, RYT (she/her)
clinician
Incorporating art and breathing techniques often show up (although not always) in my sessions. I utilize art therapy and incorporate nature-based therapy along with traditional talk therapy to assist clients in exploring and processing barriers in their lives. I often find that how one makes decisions, what is considered in the process and what is not, often holds keys to the obstacles at hand.
I work with couples and families, as well as relish my time with individuals. I am particularly interested in utilizing art-making in therapy to process trauma, anxiety, depression, and explore family of origin.
I am a professional textile artist in the field of fashion at the same time as being a therapeutic arts psychotherapist. I co-own and operate a small design house in Minneapolis where I, along with my sister, focus on no-waste fashion design. I am also a certified yoga instructor and have been teaching yoga for over 20 years.
