Shanda Guy, BS

Graduate Intern

Shanda provides office-based and virtual therapy to individual adults. She is a graduate student completing Capella University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s program and pursuing a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential. She is supervised at Cabot Psychological Services by Mary Wilkening, LICSW. In her previous career in the business world, Shanda was (and still is) able to relate to and assist those who are facing career challenges, life transitions, and seeking work-life balance. Shanda is also a skilled ceramics artist and likes to incorporate artistic expression into her therapy.

Shanda’s approach is client-informed, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. She uses therapy tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused brief therapy in her work with clients. Shanda enjoys counseling adults facing anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, attachment disorders, ADHD, and life transitions. She works particularly well with young adults.

Shanda believes in the power of authenticity and fostering genuine connections in therapy. She aims to work collaboratively with clients and professionals to honor the diverse factors influencing clients’ authentic selves.
